Martha Sturdy creates in resin, steel, brass and aluminum. Her designs are every changing and represent three decades of artistic evolution. Martha believes in the integrity of art and the essence of true form. Taking elemental shapes found in nature and combine them with global influences to create pieces that are dramatic yet minimal, sexy yet strong, aggressive yet soft. Martha Sturdy pieces are hand crafted and finished in her studio in Vancouver, BC, Canada. RESIN | Each resin design is unique; having its own colourations, air bubbles, irregularities and textures. The unique quality of each handmade piece makes it a true original piece of functional art. Resin furniture and accessories are created first by hand mixing one of over twenty different colour possibilities. It is then poured into a mould with a catalyst that works as an agent for the resin to harden. Once extracted from the mould, pieces are hand sanded and inspected for superior quality
