The company was founded by Philip Rosenthal Sr. in 1879 in Selb, Germany. Over the decades it emerged to one of the world's finest porcelain and crystal manufacturers in the world. The founders motto since 1900 was that "only through better form and decor can a manufacturer win the lead over its competition".
