A little quirky and a lot of fun! We are excited to introduce the Champagne-cork stool...yes, stool. At two feet high this soft, yet durable oddity is sure to make a splash at your next cocktail party. Perfect for a bar/bistro area or as a functional accessory in a wine cellar, the special anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of cork also make the stools ideal for sipping wine on the patio as well.
Each stool is made of solid, 100 percent sustainable cork - a unique medium and perfect gift for the eco-conscious consumer. The cork tree is native to the Mediterranean and harvested widely in Spain, France, Morocco, Italy, Algeria, Tunisia, and Portugal - where the stool is made and the largest producer of cork worldwide.
The trees thrive in the mild climate with virtually no resource investment because they don’t require irrigation, pesticides, or pruning. In Portugal, trees cannot be harvested until they are at least 25 years old, and then only every nine years. And since the bark is hand-stripped from the living trunk by teams of skilled workers, a single cork tree can live hundreds of years.
